Fire Engine by Azaan
This week, as part of our exciting ‘CASE’ (Children and Safety Education) programme, we were lucky enough to have a visit from the fire brigade. Boys from Year 1 were shown the fire engine and its equipment by the friendly staff. By the end of the session we knew that the fire brigade carried five different sized ladders on the fire engine and we had seen the breathing apparatus that they use to enter a smoke filled building.
Unfortunately, it was such a cold day that we weren’t able to try the hoses out as it would’ve made the senior school yard an ice rink!
1B really enjoyed the activity; their highlights were sitting in the cab and listening to the emergency sirens!
Afterwards, we had a go at producing our own fire engine collages independently by following written instructions.
I love the fire engine I remember making it. Oscar
